GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Football team earned five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards this week. Jr. Charlie Fournier, Jr. Dugan Sexton, Sr. Micah Justice, Sr. Peyton Ludemann, and Sr. Justin Zamora were the five athletes who earned the title of Academic All-District for their performance on the field and in the classroom.
"The 2023 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA."
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District an athlete must have these qualifications:
Academic standing:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Institutions may only nominate eight athletes for CSC Academic All-District Awards in football.
Academic eligibility:
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic eligibility
- Fall sports (M/W Soccer, Football), student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests.
