LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Southwestern University senior quarterback Bryan Hicks was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Hicks threw for 312 yards and five touchdowns in Southwestern's 35-31 victory over Texas Lutheran Saturday in Seguin. He completed 25 of 43 pass attempts, averaging 12.5 yards per completion. Hicks also scrambled away from pressure in the fourth quarter to find Kenneth Wynn Jr. in the back of the end zone for the go-ahead score with 7:57 to play.

The Pirates wrapped up the 2016 campaign with a 7-3 record, including a 6-0 mark in the SCAC. Southwestern also was crowned conference champions for the first time since 1946.
