GEORGETOWN, Texas – After two weeks on the road, the Southwestern University football team will open its 2015 home slate on Saturday when it welcomes East Texas Baptist to Birkelbach Field. The seventh all-time meeting between the two programs is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
The Pirates (1-1) picked up their first victory of the campaign last Saturday in Abilene, defeating McMurry, 7-6. Juniors Justin Broussard (Defensive) and Dylan Wilburn (Special Teams) picked up conference player of the week honors for their performances.
The Tigers (1-1) enter the contest on the heels of a 56-14 drubbing of Texas College last Saturday in Tyler.
Saturday's promotion is Hometown Team Day. All youth wearing jerseys or cheerleading outfits will be admitted free, along with their family members, to the contest.
