Men's Cross Country

2010-11 (Senior)

Cross Country: Smith ended his career as a Pirate on a high note, running in a personal best time of 27:23 at the South/Southeast Regional, coming in 70th place. At the SCAC Championships he finished in a time of 27:43.0 for 47th place.

Track: Smith came in 20th at the SCAC Championships with a time of 4:25.19 in the 1500.

2009 (Junior)

Smith placed 53rd at the SCAC Championships with a season-best time of 27:41.9

2008-2009 (Sophomore)

Was the third highest Pirate finisher at the South/Southeast Regional, coming in 89th place in a personal best time of 28:18.4.

2007-2008 (First-year)

Cross Country: Smith competed in all six meets for the Pirates and was a top-5 finisher for the team in all but one meet. His highest overall finish was at the Texas D-III State Championships where he finished 34th of 71 and ran 31:11.36 for the 8k. At the South/Southeast Regional Championships, he was 3rd Pirate to cross the finish line and placed 85th of 170 competitors. He ran the 8k course in a personal best time of 28:58.

Allen, a 2007 graduate of Shelton High School, earned four varsity letters in both cross country and track.  While running for the Chargers, Allen was named to the TAPPS All-State team twice, was the 2006 district champion in both the 1600 and 3200.  In 2007, Allen repeated as the 1600 champion and finished as the runner up in the 3200 and was the regional runner up in both events that year.  Allen is the son of Allen and Jane and has one sister, Christine.  Allen is majoring in communication studies and enviornmental studies with a minor in kinesiology at SU.
