MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE MEET CANCELED, PIRATES TO COMPETE IN ARKANSAS

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Due to poor course conditions and the extensive amount of rain the Jackson, Miss. area has received the Mississippi College Cross Country Invitational has been canceled. The Pirates will join Trinity and Hendrix at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in northwest Arkansas.

The men will compete at the 10K distance while the women will run a 6K on Saturday, October 17th.
The Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival was created in 1992 to bring together three northwest Arkansas cross-country races under a single event - the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, which is now one of the premier running events in America.

Now the Chile Pepper celebrates its 21st year and hosts approximately 3,500 runners and over 4,000 spectators each year and is one of the largest cross country festivals in the nation.

The meet will be a good test for the currently regionally ranked men’s team and the women’s team. This is their final competition prior to the SCAC Championships at the end of the month.
