
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Volleyball team earned four College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards this week. So. Annika Flora, So. Carly Berkman, Sr. Andie Valenzuela, and Jr. Claire Romo were the four athletes who earned the title of Academic All-District for their performance on the court and in the classroom.
"The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA."
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District an athlete must have these qualifications:
Academic standing:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Institutions may only nominate four athletes for CSC Academic All-District Awards in volleyball.
Academic eligibility:
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic eligibility
- Fall sports (Volleyball), student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total matches.
