GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Geneva Nedrow, a junior libero from Cedar Park, Texas, by way of Vista Ridge High School, wrote her name in the Southwestern Volleyball history books this past weekend. In the Pirates matchup versus Schreiner University on Saturday, Nedrow racked up a total of 39 digs against the Mountaineers. A Southwestern University volleyball record for digs in a five-set match for the rally-scoring era. The record was previously held by Ali Grona, who managed 38 digs in a five-set match against Austin College her senior year.
Nedrow had already eclipsed her career-high against Pomona-Pitzer earlier on in the season in a 3-1 win for the Pirates with 30 digs in that game. Currently, in 2023, Nedrow stands at 236 digs this season averaging 5.36 digs per set and 3.64 throughout her career so far. While standing as a staple of the Pirate's defense, Nedrow is as accurate as them come from the service line, leading the Pirates in services aces per set along with total aces in 19.
