Exit Interviews Part 1: Landri Brown and Jessica Kuras

This season, a young Southwestern University Pirates volleyball team finished with a 22-15 record, including 12-6 in conference play, despite a roster with seven new starters and 15 underclassmen.

Outside Hitter Landri Brown was one of two seniors on the team, providing crucial leadership and an on-and-off the court example of "The Pirate Way."

Battling through injury, Brown totaled 91 kills and 13 total blocks, producing big matches in wins over Texas Lutheran University (12 kills, .333 hitting percentage) and Austin College (10 kills, .231 hitting percentage).

Jessica Kuras is a first year outside hitter whose improvement took her from just outside the rotation to a vital piece, posting multiple double-digit kills matches over the second half of the season; totaling 102 kills on a .162 hitting percentage and 22 total blocks.

The pair kick off a new series of senior exit interviews in which a first year interviews a senior teammate, drawing on their experience, reflecting on a collegiate career at Southwestern University, and discussing what it means to be a Pirate.
