Volleyball Defeats Dallas In Three Sets

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Southwestern University Pirates defeated the University of Dallas in three sets, winning 25-11, 25-21, 25-11 to open up the second day of the SCAC Group A Divisional.

Southwestern set the tone with a brutally efficient first set, notching 13 kills on 25 attacks with only two errors for a .440 hitting percentage. Dallas committed five errors to seven kills to hit .087 for the set. The Pirates committed six hitting errors in the second set, the closest of the match, and recovered to put it away cleanly in the third.

  • Elleanna McGown led the Pirates with 10 kills, eclipsing the double-digit mark for the first time in five matches, and also produced nine digs with two block assists.
  • Emma White led the team in digs with 12 and also contributed seven digs.
  • The Pirates' serve game was effective with nine aces, led by Wren Seabolt and Lauren Crabtree, who each finished with three.
  • Southwestern's defense held Dallas to a -.129 hitting percentage in the third set.

With the win, the Pirates improved to 9-4 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. They played Colorado College for the second match of the day.
