GEORGETOWN – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the 2016 Division III Coaches Top-25 Poll Wednesday and Southwestern ranks 16th nationally. 

Under the guidance of new Head Coach Don Flora, Southwestern will once again enter the season nationally-ranked. 

Southwestern won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title last season to earn their 13th appearance in the NCAA tournament. SU fell to No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the opening round in California and were tied for 14th in the final poll. 

The Pirates host Shandong Laishang Bank, a professional team out of China, for an exhibition match on August 31 at 6:30 p.m., before opening the season on September 2 in Washington to face No. 8 Carthage and Puget Sound.
