
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Three Southwestern University Men's Swimmers received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards this week. Senior Zach Kangieser, sophomore Zach Roberts and sophomore Hayden Silkenson were the three swimmers who earned the title of Academic All-District for their performance in the pool and in the classroom.
"The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA."
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District an athlete must have these qualifications:
Academic standing:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Institutions may only nominate four athletes for CSC Academic All-District Awards in Men's Swimming and Diving.
Academic eligibility:
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic eligibility
- M/W Swimming & Diving: Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet.
