Men's Swim Wins 200 Freestyle Relay

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- For just the second time in program history, the Southwestern men's team beat Trinity University by .01 second to finish first in the 200 freestyle relay at the Southern Athletic Collegiate Conference (SCAC) Swim & Dive Championships.

Southwestern now trails close behind the Trinity's men's team with 275 points while the Tigers collected 326 points.

Sam Anderson, Henry McClure, Drew Anderson and Keith Gill claimed first place in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.06 40. Gill also grabbed another first place win for the Pirates in the men's 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.64. Drew Anderson was close behind in third place with a time of 21.44 and McClure had a time of 21.67, finishing in fifth place.

In the 200-yard IM Sam Anderson finished in second place with a time of 1:52.98 and Dylan Neumann finished in eighth place with a time of 1:58.91. In the 500-yard freestyle, Matt Oevermann finished in sixth place with a time of 4:44.84.

Men's swim will continue to compete tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. preliminaries then finals at 6:00 p.m. with men's 1-meter diving, women's 3-meter diving, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 Backstroke and the 400 medley relay.
