Men's Swim Team Second Overall After First Day of SCAC Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Southwestern University men's swim claimed second and third place in both relays in the first day Southern Athletic Collegiate Conference (SCAC) Swim & Dive Championships. 

The meet began at 5 p.m. with the 200-yard medley relay, where Carter Duncan, Alek Argueta, Keith Gill and Todd Coachman finished with the second-fastest time of 1:33.18. Up next was the 800-yard freestyle where Sam Anderson, Gill, Dylan Neumann and Coachman finished third with a time of 6:58.32 right behind Trinity and Colorado College. 

The men's team ended the day in second place overall with a score of 94, trailing Trinity which collected 116 points. Third was Colorado College with 90 points, then Centenary College with 74 points followed by Ozarks with 64 points, McMurry with 52 points and Austin College with 50 points.  

Up next, swimming preliminaries will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m. The diving events are on the slate February 14-15 at approximately 1:15 p.m., following swimming preliminaries.
