Men's Swimming and Diving Competes Against Carthage

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University Pirates men's swimming and diving team competed against Carthage in a winter break relay meet, outscoring Carthage 38-30.

It was a friendly, pared down meet sticking to relay races and foregoing individual competitions with nine events, four by the men's team, four by the women's team, and one 6-x75 freestyle mixed competition.

"In the first time Southwestern swam against Carthage, it was a fun relay meet," Head Coach Jon Duncan said. "It was good to have this type of meet during winter break. We look forward to finishing our practices this week before they head home for Christmas break."

The men placed second in the 300 yard medley relay (2:43.53), first (4:19.35) and second (4:25.21) in the 500 yard freestyle relay, second in the 400 yard medley relay (3:54.84), and first (1:23.08) and second (1:23.67) in the 8x25 freestyle relay.

Southwestern placed first in the mixed 6x75 freestyle relay. In combined men's and women's scores, Carthage outscored Southwestern 77-76.
