UTPB holds off Pirates at home

GEORGETOWN, Texas - University of Texas Permian Basin opened the meet with a relay win and held off Southwestern to defeat the Pirates 157-121 in their final home meet of the season. 

Michael Glover earned the first event win for the Pirates by taking first in the 100 back with a time of 54.26. Dylan Neumann earned a first place finish of his own in the 50 free, finishing in a time of 22.40. 

The Pirates had their best finish in the 100 free as they snagged the top three spots in the event. Caleb Liles finished first in 48.94, narrowly out-touching Todd Coachman who took second in 49.11. Glover placed third with a time of 50.08. 

Mickey Scharbrough had a strong meet with a first place finish in the 200 breast (2:14.54) and finished 2nd in 100 breast (1:02.57). Peter Robinson kept the winning going as he took the top spot in the 500 free with a time of 4:55.11. 

The meet served as the final tune-up before the Pirates head to Lewisville, Texas on February 14th to kickoff the Southern Collegiate Athletic Championship.
