
GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern men's swimming team earned a 161-127 victory over Trinity on Saturday afternoon at Walzel Natatorium.
The Pirates won 12 events, including both relays.
Todd Coachman swept both the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, while Mickey Scharbrough was a two-time victor in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes.
Additionally, Simmon Belaineh was first to the wall in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.66 seconds. Michael Glover was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 54.76 seconds.
Matt Sluss (100-yard butterfly), Evan Jones (200-yard butterfly) and Martin Martinez (200-yard individual medley) also captured wins to help Southwestern.
The Pirates will travel to Midland next Saturday to take on both Texas-Permian Basin and Wayland Baptist. The tri-meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
