LEWISVILLE, Texas – The Southwestern University men's swimming & diving team continued its strong performance on day three of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at the Westside Aquatic Center.
The Pirates are in second place with 979 points, trailing only Trinity (1,330 points).
Mickey Scharbrough led the way with a championship in the 100-meter breaststroke with a NCAA "B" cut time of 57.32.
Matt Sluss finished runner-up in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:41.83, while John Rodriguez was second in the one-meter diving.
The 400-meter medley relay also placed second with a mark of 3:26.21.
The final day of competition is scheduled for Saturday.
