Pirates Split Games With Texas Lutheran

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Volleyball defeated the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 3-1 earlier in October, however, the Pirates would fall by the same margin in Seguin, Texas on Tuesday night.

The Bulldog's offense came out firing on all cylinders, hitting .273 as a team in the first set, securing a 25-18 set win with fifteen kills and just three errors. The Pirates battled back to tie the match at 1-1 a piece in the second set, coming away with thirteen kills, with eight errors on fifty-five total attempts. From then on, the Bulldogs pushed ahead for two set wins by 25-22 and 25-18 respectively. 

Geneva Nedrow accumulated 28 digs in the contest and has eclipsed the 500 dig mark in 2023. Christina Kuras reached ten digs on the night followed by Annika Flora with seven, Erica Otto with seven, and Andie Valenzuela with six. Otto claimed the highest hitting percentage on the team with .217, however, the Pirates as a unit hit just .058 on the night. 

The final three games of the season will take place on Saturday, October 28th versus Austin College at 11:00 AM and Dallas at 3:30 PM, with the final game on Sunday, October 29th against Centenary at 10:00 AM.
