#11 Pirates remain undefeated with two wins Friday

SAN ANTONIO – Southwestern did not drop a single set in two matches as the 11th-ranked Pirates swept both Whitworth and Mary Hardin-Baylor on day one of the Trinity Invitational.

Jamison Duck led offensively with 26 kills and a .328 hitting percentage and was second on the team in digs with 25 at over 4 per set.

Head Coach Don Flora on the victories...
"Overall today we played a lot of high-quality volleyball we did a very nice job receiving it giving up zero aces into matches today. I believe we defended at a fairly high level in both matches and we got better blocking in our second match.

Jamison Duck had a high-quality day of offense and she also had two double-doubles in our two matches today. I believe her 14 kills and 12 digs versus Whitworth were the key to our success. Kate Mitchell continues to carry a very high offensive load. It is nice to see her get better every match. Andie Alford was very good receiving it today and defensively.

Holding both teams under .200 offensively is a sign of our defensive focus being at a high-level."
