LEXINGTON, Ky. - After an opening week that found the Pirates a perfect 5-0, Southwestern entered into the top 25 in the latest AVCA poll. The Pirates are tied with Coe College at #23. 

Southwestern started play at Concordia University where they easily won 3-0 Tuesday night. 

The weekend brought four tough teams in UT Dallas, Millsaps, Illinois Wesleyan and Whitworth. Despite incredibly talented teams, UT Dallas was the only school to win a set from the Pirates as the Comets forced a five-set match for the Pirates to earn the win. 

Kaitlyn Foster led SU on the weekend with 66 kills and was second in digs with 71. Andie Alford was the team leader in digs with 75 and aces with nine while Kirby Kincannon logged 13 blocks on the week. 

Southwestern hits the road for the Austin College Invitational this coming weekend, facing East Texas Baptist and Hardin-Simmons Friday.
