Three Pirates earn All-SCAC Volleyball Honors

Three Pirates earn All-SCAC Volleyball Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Headlined by Chandler Lentz's First Team All-SCAC selection, three Southwestern volleyball players were named to the 2013 All-SCAC team released by the conference office on Wednesday.

Lentz has been a difference maker all season for the Pirates as her hustle and effort are evident during play. She is fourth in the conference in digs per set averaging 4.86, just .02 digs per set off of third, and leads the SCAC in digs with 608 on the season. Lentz also earned two votes for SCAC Backrow Player-of-the-Year.

Foster earned her second All-SCAC Second Team selection in her sophomore season. She is in the top four in every category for the Pirates this year and leads SU in kills per set (3.06), kills (300) and service aces per set (.30). Foster's attack numbers put her fourth in the SCAC in kills per set and fifth in digs per set.  A player with stealth like ability to beat opponents, Foster has battled injury in the last part of the season.

Pool has stepped up to the plate and picked up a bulk of the hitting load in Foster's absence and has done an outstanding job, landing her first All-SCAC Second Team nod. Pool is second on the team in kills per set (2.70) and kills (275) and third in digs per set (3.65) and digs (372) and is in the top five in the other four categories.

Southwestern closed out the regular season this past weekend, ending the year with a 24-10 overall record, 10-4 in the SCAC. They enter the SCAC Championship as the #3 seed and will face Schreiner University on Friday at Trinity. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
