SUWANEE, Ga. - Senior defensive specialist/libero Sarai Tenerelli has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 5 through Sunday, September 11.

Tenerelli was the difference maker as the 14th-ranked Pirates defeated 10th ranked California Lutheran, 3-1. She tallied 39 digs in the four-set win while adding 81 for the weekend and averaged 5.79 digs per set at the Cal-Lu-fornia Invitational while Southwestern went a perfect 4-0 at the tournament.

To date, Southwestern is 7-0 on the season and has defeated #10 California Lutheran and then ranked #9 Wisconsin-Platteville. The Pirates continue through their challenging schedule as they head to San Antonio to play in the Trinity National Invitational on Friday and Saturday. There SU faces #8 Carthage and #7 St. Thomas (MN) in addition to Texas Lutheran and Occidental who is just outside of the top 25.
