THOMPSON, BROWN, AND NICHOLLS EARN ALL-SCAC SELECTIONS

SUWANEE, Ga. - Junior Lindsay Thompson (left) and junior Christina Nicholls (right) were named as All-SCAC First Team selections while senior Lauren Brown (middle) was named to the All-SCAC Second Team on Friday evening in voting by SCAC coaches. 

Thompson is leading the Pirates in kills with 331 for a 2.71 kills per set average which puts her at eighth in the SCAC. She has a .281 hitting percentage which is also tops among the regular attackers. Thompson is also fifth in the conference and first for Southwestern in blocks averaging 1.04 blocks per game.

Nicholls is leading Southwestern, averaging 9.26 assists per game, and is fifth in the conference in the same category. She has tallied 26 service aces thus far which is third on the team and has 36 blocks on the season.

Brown is second in kills for the Pirates with 298 on the season for a 2.40 kills per set average. She has also recorded 126 digs, 72 blocks and 22 aces this year.

Southwestern finished in fifth place at the SCAC Conference tournament after being upset in the opening round by Centre College. They defeated Rhodes and Millsaps 3-0 on day two to earn the fifth place finish. The Pirates will wait and see if they receive an at-large bid to the national tournament.
