Southwestern logs pair of school records at UIW Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – Two school records fell at the UIW Invitational for the Southwestern University women's track and field team.

Kimi Prevost finished eighth in the shot put with a program-record heat of 10.55m. She also placed third in the javelin after launching the implementing to a distance of 28.18m and fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 32.12m.

Kelsey Faykus posted a school record in the discus throw with a toss of 34.44m, which was good for fifth place.

Tori Carraway added a pair of top-five finishes. Carraway placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.51m, while she also finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles after crossing the line with a time of 16.25 seconds.

The Pirates will return to action on April 22 at the SCAC Championships, which will be held in Seguin.
