Frey, Williams, Garcia and Stovall Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

Richmond, VA - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 1,206 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2021-22 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championships. 

Emma Frey, Emma Williams, Zoe Garcia and Jesse Stovall all met the academic and athletic qualifications to receive the honors of CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.

Frey, Williams, Garcia and Stovall qualified for the NCAA Championships as the 200-yard freestyle relay team with a time of 1:34.49 at the SCAC Championships, setting a new conference record. Frey, Garcia, Delaney Anthony, and Stovall qualified for the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:28.55 at the SCAC Championships, finishing second. 

The 200-yard medley relay team placed 27th at the NCAA Championship, clocking in at 1:52.02. The quartet of Stovall, Garcia, Williams, and Frey was 24th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.93. Southwestern's Frey, Garcia, Anthony, and Stovall placed 25th in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:32.58. 

The women showed excellent academic and athletic discipline as they were able to achieve grade point averages of 3.50 or higher while competing in meets and championships throughout the season.
