Women's Swimming & Diving Places Second at Tiger Invite

SAN ANTONIO — Southwestern women's swimming and diving finished in second place at the Trinity Tigers Invitational, scoring a 794 to trail Trinity at 1,323. 

Maysen Hauck opened the third day of competition with third-place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.58 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.67. Jesse Stovall earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 51.68. 

Natalie Gierat placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.31, and Jess Karli finished the 200-yard butterfly in 2:24.97 for a fifth-place finish. Alexys Matcuk placed seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:39.62. 

Southwestern's quartet of Emma Frey, Stovall, Emma Williams, and Zoe Garcia finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:32.06. In the 1-meter dive, Sydney Lo scored a 220.9 to place seventh. 

The Pirates have now wrapped up their fall semester schedule. Southwestern will return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 22, on the road against the University of Texas Permian Basin.
