Pirates still in third place after day three of SCAC Championships

LEWISVILLE, Texas – The Southwestern University women's swimming & diving team still is in third place after day three of competition at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Pirates have amassed 413 points and trail Trinity and Colorado College with one day of events left.

Southwestern's 400-meter medley relay team led the way with a third-place finish. The foursome of Cara Chin, Erika Dubros, Kenly Gaynor and Natalie Lesnick logged a time of 4:05.86.

Gaynor also finished fourth in the 100-meter butterfly.

Dubros turned in a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke and Alexandra Morris was fourth in the 400-meter individual medley.

The league championship will wrap up Saturday. Preliminary races begin at 10:30 a.m., while finals are scheduled for eight hours later.
