Men's Swimming and Diving Remain in Third at SCAC Championships

GARLAND, Texas — The Southwestern men's swimming and diving team picked up two more top-three finishes on the third day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) championship meet and remain in third place. 

Sam Anderson earned another top-three, scoring a 4:05.67 in the 400-yard individual medley to finish behind Colorado College's Tony Saenz, who won the event with a time of 4:05.32. Anderson's time set a new school record, breaking Alex Villarreal's mark set in 2015. 

Southwestern finished third in the 400-yard medley relay. Tyler Scott, Anderson, Kevan Kennedy, and Henry McClure clocked in at 3:28.37, trailing Trinity at 3:19.17 and Colorado College's time of 3:26.00. 

Trinity remains the event's overall leader with a score of 688. Colorado College is in second with 546 points, followed by Southwestern at 420 to round out the top three. Tomorrow, the teams will compete in the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, 400-yard freestyle relay, 1,650-yard freestyle, women's one-meter diving, and men's three-meter diving.
