SAM ANDERSON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Broomfield, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, January 24 to Sunday, January 30. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 10)

Anderson picked up two victories in the team's dual with Trinity in the last home meet of Southwestern's season. He clocked in at 59.09 to win the 100-yard breaststroke, then earned another win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.80

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Daniel Sarman of Trinity helped lead the Tigers to a win over Southwestern on Saturday with four great races. He led off the winning medley relay (1:36.02) with a 25.33 backstroke split, and also won the 200 backstroke with a 1:55.67. Sarman also finished less than a half second behind his teammate in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.96, and split a 21.84 on the Tigers' B 200 freestyle relay. Sophomore Jaxon Batten of McMurry registered three top-three finishes, including a first-place finish in the 500 free at 5:15.84. He also finished second in the 200 free (1:51.68) and finished third in the 100 free (51.57). Senior Mitchell Lulich of Centenary highlighted last Saturday's home meet in a dual against Austin College. He claimed three individual wins and was a member of the winning 200 free relay squad. Lulich won the 50 back, swimming a time of 28.39, claimed a win in the 200 IM (2:13.81), and won the 100 breast (1:04.24). Senior Niolai Van Zyl of University of the Ozarks split a 27.58 breaststroke leg on the 200 medley relay to overtake McMurry for the win in the team's final home meet. He won the 50 breaststroke in 28.55 and the 50 freestyle in 22.90 against both McMurry and Williams Baptist, and also won the 100 breaststroke against Williams Baptist in 1:03.63 and placed second to McMurry.
