Pirates Keep Breaking Records

Rockwall, Texas – The Southwestern University Men's swimming team was back at it for the 2nd day of the SCAC Championships breaking records just like the day before.  The 200 Medley Relay team broke a school record and placed 3rd with a time of 1:35.33. The relay teams, which have been strong all year, were lead by Ty Lapinski who placed a personal best on his leg of the race, Kyler Wood, Dylan Johnson, and Simon Gersib.

The 800 Freestyle Relay team broke a school record with a time of 7:03.88 and placed 4th. Dylan Johnson got the team off to a great start by setting a school record in the lead off leg of this event. Ty Lapinski, Simon Gersib, and Tommy Frashier all swam strong in their legs of this event also.
 
Simon Gersib set a school record in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:14.61. Kyler Wood also set a school record in the prelims for the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 58:1. Sam Visser also did well in the 100 Breaststroke prelim round with a personal best time of 1:01.54
