Pirates Continue Their Excellence In The Water

Southlake, Texas – The Southwestern Men's swimming team placed 3rd at the Tiger Invitational. The Pirates are keeping up with their strong start and are only getting better.

Tommy Frashier placed 1st in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:46.01 and also placed 1st in the 1650 Freestyle. Right behind him was teammate Ty Lapinski placing 3rd in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:51.79. Ty had a great event, placed 1st in the Individual Medley with a time of 4:15.22 and also placed 2nd in the 1650 Freestyle.

Simon Gersib placed 1st in the 200 Butterfly 1:59.47. Dylan Johnson placed 1st in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 21.59 and also placed 2nd in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 47.73. Kyler Wood placed 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 59.10 and also the 200 Breaststroke 2:12.04
 
The relay teams kept their pace by placing 2nd in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:27.26 the team is made up of swimmers Dylan Johnson, Kyler Wood, Ivan Cruickshank, and Tommy Frashier.  The 400 Medley Relay team came in 3rd with a time of 3:38.39, this team is made up of Tommy Frasier, Kyler Wood, Simon Gersib, and Dylan Johnson. The 400 Freestyle Relay came in 2nd with a time of 3:16.71 this team is made up of Kyler Wood, Dylan Johnson, Simon Gersib, and Garrett Holody.
 
The Pirates next event will be Jan 12th at the Austin College for the Austin College Invitational.
