Men’s Golf Finishes 7th at San Antonio Invitational

San Antonio, Texas - The Southwestern men's golf team ended the second day of competition with a total score of 942, moving up one spot from the previous day to finish in 7th place. 

Christian Rodriguez had a phenomenal third round shooting the lowest score of the field with a 71 on the card. Rodriguez had a tricky start, going three-over on the first four holes, however he was able to salvage his score by birdieing seven out of the next 14 holes securing him a solo third-place finish.

Tuesday was a relief for Logan Pullin, who improved drastically as the tournament went on, going from a first-round 90 to shooting a final round 73. Two other Pirates, Nicholas Hoisington and Bryce Stiemert, ended the third round in the top half of the field tied for 25th; both Hoisington and Stiemert went +22 for the tournament. 

Concordia University (TX) won the event with a final score of 910, finishing with two players in the top five. Trinity and St. Thomas University finished second and third respectively with St. Thomas's Jonathan Miller ending atop the individual leaderboard.

Men's Golf will be back in action at the Schreiner Shootout in Kerrville, Texas on March 7th.
