Southwestern men grab title at Vaaler Creek Golf Course

BLANCO, Texas – All five Pirate golfers finished in the top 10 Tuesday as the Southwestern University men's golf team took home the team title at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational.

The Pirates bested Concordia by 14 strokes as the Pirates finished with a 585 team score. Concordia held onto second place finishing one stroke better than Schreiner University who scored an even 600.

Jordan Cowart and Cameron Button each finished tied for second to help pace the Pirates. Both golfers finished with a two-day score of 146 as Jimmy Keener edged the duo with a 145 to claim the individual title.

Andrew DeHennis was close behind his teammates with a 147 and a fourth place finish.

All five Pirates finished within just four strokes with Cody Hebert carding a 148 to finish tied for sixth. James Grachos earned a ninth place finish with a 150.

Southwestern heads east to take part in the Tunica National on the banks of the Mississippi River hosted by Rhodes College. The two day tournament is set to tee off Sept. 15 with final round action commencing Sept. 16.
