PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Laura Carrasco Torres paced the Southwestern women's cross country with a top 30 finish, placing No. 29 at the Concordia Cross Country Classic.
Carrasco-Tores clocked in at 25:42.8, setting a personal-best time in a 6K after setting her personal best in a 5K in the previous race.
Lauren Calzado finished 43rd with a time of 26:59.6, scoring her own personal-best. Grace Massey ran a 27:42.2 in her first collegiate 6K, placing 52nd. Rachel Chiella clocked in at 29:11.3. Darby Vrba ran a 34:08.2, placing 85th.
Southwestern finished eighth out of 12 teams, scoring a 214 with a total time of 2:23:43. The University of Texas won the event with a score of 15, running a total time of 1:47:18. The Pirates will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2, in the University of Incarnate Word Invitational.
