Southwestern Women's Cross Country All-Decade Team

Southwestern Women's Cross Country All-Decade Team

The decade ended with a new coach setting new foundations for the Southwestern women's cross country team, but before turning the page on a new decade, let's take a moment to reflect on the past 10 years with the Southwestern All-Decade Team.

Lilly Duarte | 2010-2013 | Athlete of the Decade

Duarte owned the first few years of the Pirates' decade, providing the sort of athletic ability, academics, and character programs can use as a cornerstone as a two-sport star in cross country and track and field.

She is a three-time All-SCAC runner, finishing 12th in 2011 with a time of 23:07, tying Catherine Cunningham's record for the best time in school history. She would top that record three times, setting the top mark with a 22:47.29 performance to finish ninth at the NCAA Region Championships and earn a spot in the NCAA Championships.

Duarte has 5 of the top 10 6K times in school history and 6 of the top 10 5K times, including the record at 18:13.2. She was named the 2014 SCAC Woman of the Year.

Brianna Timourian | 2014-2016

Timourian finished second in the 2015 SCAC Championships, clocking in at a personal best 24:23.3 to finish as the lone All-SCAC runner who wasn't from Trinity or Colorado College.

Other top-five finishes include the 2015 OLLU Invitational 5K (4th, 19:02.0), 2015 University of Incarnate Word Invitational 6K (2nd, 22:21.3), Southwestern Invitational 5K (2nd, 19.22.1), and the 2016 Pirate Opener 5K (5th, 22:40.0).

Kara Koinis | 2010-2013

Koinis holds the 10th-fastest 5K time in program history, clocking in at 19:32.12 with a 10th-place finish at the Concordia Invitational. She finished 16th at the 2013 SCAC Championships with a time of 24:16.1, which was the fourth-fastest time in program history at the time, finishing 16th.
