2013
Vacek raced in all six races for Pirate cross country in her first season at Southwestern. She posted a time of 27:15.3 at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships earning a season best in the 6k. She earned a season best in the 5k at the Texas Lutheran Invitational finishing 26th with a time of 24:26.0. Vacek also was honored being named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.
High School
Valerie is a 2013 graduate from Tom C. Clark HS where she competed in cross country and track. While there she took first place regionally, state-wide, and nationally in Latin Literature competitions. She also took first in the regional academic decathlon and qualified for nationals.

Valerie is the daughter of Kenneth and Leticia Vacek and has one brother, Kenneth Vacek Jr.
