CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN ALL-ACADEMIC STATUS FROM UCFTCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The men's and women's cross country teams were named as 2010 All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday. This is the second consecutive season the women's team has been honored while the men join the list for the first time since the program began in 2006.

167 women's teams and 125 men's teams earned the award which is given to those squads that have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

The Pirate women boasted a 3.32 team GPA while the men had a 3.24 team GPA. Eight Southern Collegetiate Athletic Conference schools were selected on the men's and women's side.
