The Women’s Cross Country team got to work at the Twilight
Opener at Berry Springs capturing four of the top five spots in the
dual race against Concordia.
Senior Tami Warner led the way taking first place in a time of
21:29.4. First-year Christina Hadly had a strong showing in her
first collegiate race as she finished in second place in a time of
21:58.9. Sophomore Lisa Morse took third place coming in just after
Hadly with a time of 22:07.4. Concordia’s Joli Bula finished
in the fourth slot with a 22:21.0 race time and SU’s junior
Ursula James rounded out the top five in a time of 23:44.4.
Also competing for the Pirates were junior Lili McEntire who came
in eighth in a time of 24:33.1, first-year Laura Wooden who took
ninth in a time of 25:27.4 and junior Dianna Urrego who finished in
25:48.3 for tenth place.
The Pirates will next compete at the University of Texas at Tyler
Invitational on Saturday, September 5th in Tyler, TX.
