Pirates Off to a Hot Start on a Hot Day

The Pirate cross country team started their season in Sewanee, TN at the Sewanee invitational on a day that temperatures near 90 at start time.  Paden Williams led the way for the men with a time of 27:52.87, good enough to finish 6th in the Division III field.  The Pirates would finish in 6th place overall with a point total of 181.  Thier finish  would place them fourth in the Division III field.  Other Southwestern times included: Stephen Fuentes-29:57.03; Andres Soto-30:33.10; John Cooper-31:33.21; CJ Martinez-34:09.30; and Philip Davis-37:58.58.

The Pirates next will compete September 24 in Abilene, TX at the Texas DIII Cross Country Championships.
