Hover Named ASC Offensive Player of the Week for Second Time

RICHARDSON, Texas - Junior quarterback Frederick Hover was named ASC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after an outstanding performance against Belhaven this past weekend. 

Hover accounted for seven touchdowns including a passing, rushing and receiving TD in the Pirates 60-31 win at Belhaven. He threw for 211 yards and four scores on 9-of-12 passing. He also ran for 201 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns. Hover also caught a 32-yard touchdown pass to finish with 444 yards of total offense. 

Behind Hover's big day, Southwestern racked up a season-high 689 yards of total offense. The Pirates rushed for a 410 yards yards on the evening while throwing for 279. Southwestern was an impressive 10 of 13 on third downs while averaging 8.7 yards per play.

Hover earned the award back in Septemeber after a big game in the home opener against McMurry.

Southwestern will go into their bye week next weekend before returning to action on October 28th as they travel to Abilene, Texas for their second matchup against a top five opponent this season, taking on No. 5 Hardin-Simmons at 1:30 PM.
