Alfie Vela Perrin '84, All State in high school volleyball, was co-captain of the Southwestern University volleyball team that won the Big State Conference, District IV and Bi-District NAIA championships, and second place in NAIA National Volleyball Tournament. In 1981, was the recipient of the following awards: First team All Big State Conference, First team All District, First team All Tournament at the NAIA Nationals and First team NAIA All America. Again, in her senior year, 1982, she received the same honors. After graduation, she became a teacher and coach of volleyball and track at Liberty Hill High School, Liberty Hill, Texas.
