2007-2008 (Sophomore Year)
Cox started 7 of 23 games that he appeared in and saw action in
all 15 SCAC contests making 5 starts in his second season as a
Buc...logged 381 minutes, averaging 16.6 minutes per game and in
SCAC play averaged 17.4 minutes per game...averaged 3.4 points per
game scoring 79 total points and in SCAC play averaged 3.7
ppg...shot 24-54 from the floor (.444%)...and went 8-17 from the
3-pt arc (.471%)...shot .793% from the charity stripe going 23-29
from the line...in SCAC shot even a higher percentage from the free
throw line going 19-23 for a .826 FT percentage...grabbed 44
rebounds (1.0 per game), dished out 40 assists and had 19
steals...ranked second on the team in steals at .8 per game
(19)...ranked second on the Pirates squad in assists (40) and
ranked tied for first with assists per game (1.7)...was third on
the team in FT percentage at .793...led the team in assists 7 times
with his high of 4 coming in games vs. Ohio Northern (12/29/07) and
Wabash (12/30/07)...led the team in steals four times with a
personal season high of 4 in a win vs. the University of Dallas
(2/10/08), also led the team in scoring in the UD game with a game
high 12 points.
2006-2007 (First Year)
Cox started 5 games and appeared in a 24 games logging 453 minutes
(18.9 mins per game, ranked 5th in minutes on the team) on the
floor and in SCAC play started 4 playing 13 games with 228 minutes
(17.5 mins per game) in his rookie campaign...averaged 4.5 points
per game on the year scoring 109 total and averaged 3.7 points per
game in SCAC play and was 31-85 on the season with a .365 shooting
percentage overall, in SCAC he was 14-34 with a shooting percentage
.412...Cox went 6-21 from three for .286 3-point shooting
percentage and 3-7 for in SCAC (.429)...ranked fourth in free throw
percentage, he shot 78 percent from the line going 41-52 and 17-21
in SCAC shooting 81 percent...averaged 1.5 rebounds per game and
ranked third on the team in steals with 23...ranked third on the
team in assists (49) averaging 2.0 per game...led the team with 3
steals vs. Schreiner (Nov. 11), DePauw (Jan. 20), Univ. of Dallas
(Feb. 12), and had a career high 4 assists vs. Rhodes (Dec. 2),
Sewanee (Jan. 28), Trinity (Feb. 9)...led the team and had a career
high 20 points in a overtime win vs. the University of Dallas (Feb.
12).
High School
Cox was and Academic All-State pick and a 2nd team All-District
selection and a member of the National Honor Society as a Jaguar at
Flower Mound HS.
Personal
Anthony is the son of Anthony and Brenda Cox...born on August 14,
1988...has siblings - Katrina, Joshua, Hope and Tres...is majoring
in Business with a Spanish minor at SU.
