GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Pirates drop to a 6-7 conference record with their loss against Texas Lutheran on Tuesday night and are now tied for fifth in the conference standings with the University of Dallas.

The Pirates had well-needed rest coming into their game against the Bulldogs following a heartbreaking loss to St. Thomas last week. Texas Lutheran led the Pirates 14-10 by the end of quarter number one and continued to expand on their lead in the second. The Bulldogs outscored the Pirates by eleven points in the second and took a commanding 39-24 halftime lead.

The Pirates were evenly matched with the Bulldogs in the second half, nearly matching them point for point. However, the lead Texas Lutheran built up in the second quarter was far too much for Southwestern to overcome and the Bulldogs came away with a 68-51 win.

First-year guard Aniyah Burke continues to impress, racking up eighteen points in the game. Sophomore forward Jay Hollie ties a season-high thirteen points in her outing while Emily Jasek scored a season-high six points as well.

Women's Basketball will have their final home game against Colorado College (Senior Night) on Sunday, February 12th, at 12:00 PM.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will also be holding their "Change for the Better Night", raising money for the Brookwood in Georgetown, which provides an educational environment that creates meaningful jobs, builds a sense of belonging, and validates dignity and respect for adults with disabilities.

To provide an early donation, please venmo money to Student Athlete Advisory Committee President, Leo Toussaint @Leo-Toussaint-1 and add a comment "Change for the Better". Final donation results will be released on Monday February 13th.
