Dallas came out strong with back to back singles and allowing Vargas, Jr. to lay down the bunt to bring home McRoberts for the first run of the game. Austin College didn’t have the answer and the Crusaders piled on the runs in the third, scoring six runs on six hits to lead 7-0 through two and a half.

Starting pitcher Bossert was strong for the Crusaders, scattering six hits and allowing no runs through six innings of action. UD added one more run in the eighth to arrive at the 8-1 final. Bossert was outstanding, going the distance for the complete game win with eight strikeouts and three walks.

Tug McRoberts led the way at the plate for UD with a 4-4 outing.

Dallas advanced to face Centenary in the semifinal match-up.
