Erika Synoski Named Elite 19 Award Winner for Women's Tennis

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - In an announcement made today from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Southwestern University's Erika Synoski was named the 2024 SCAC Women's Tennis Elite 19 award winner.

Synoski, a junior from Dover, Delaware, currently holds a 3.945 GPA in Kinesiology with a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies. She earned First Team All-SCAC honors this season, and finished the season with a 14-6 dual match mark primarily at the No. 2 singles line. She also combined for a 13-12 mark in doubles play, which included a 3-0 mark at this year's conference tournament, earning her All-Tournament honors for the second consecutive year.

This is the second straight year a Southwestern student-athlete has won the Elite 19 Women's Tennis award, following her former teammate Alli Ziehm, and the fourth time overall a Southwestern women's tennis player has won the award—the most of any member institution.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First or Second Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
