GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - After nearly two months since their first conference match, Women's tennis hosted Schreiner University and East Texas Baptist University for a double-header so Saturday at Henderson Courts. The Pirates earned both victories and now are 3-0 in SCAC conference play, and 9-7 overall.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. SCHREINER
- The women's team won on every court it played, as Valeria Gracia and Sydney Wahl earned an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles and Wahl almost made it a perfect day with a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles.
- Kimberly Duncan won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 after an 8-6 win in doubles with Mary Young.
- Erika Synoski had a 6-1, 6-0 win in singles after an 8-1 doubles win with Daryl Locke, who won her singles match 6-4, 6-0.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. ETBU
- Daryl Locke and Erika Synoski picked up a key tiebreaker win at No. 1 doubles to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead.
- Valeria Gracia and Sydney Wahl earned the first point with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Synoski (6-4, 6-3), Wahl (6-4, 6-1), Gracia (6-1, 6-2) and Kimberly Duncan (6-2, 6-2) all had straight-set singles wins at No. 2-5 to make it a 6-3 final.

The Pirates will be on the road Friday, April 12th, for another doubleheader versus Texas Lutheran and Our Lady of the Lake.
