
Southwestern women's tennis swept the SCAC Player of the Week and Doubles Team of the Week awards after last weekend's performances defeating No. 12-ranked Denison and No. 4-ranked Kenyon College.
Taylor Despriet is the Week 4 Singles Player of the Week after going 2-0 at No. 2 singles over the weekend, helping Southwestern post its two highest-ranked wins in program history. Despriet defeated Denison's Monique Brual 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday, then Kenyon College's Eleni Dakos 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 on Sunday to clinch the match for Southwestern.
Alli Ziehm and Emma Kesterson are the SCAC Doubles Team of the Week for posting a 2-0 record against nationally-ranked teams. Southwestern's No. 10-ranked doubles team defeated Denison's Brual and Caroline Lopez, 84, then scored an 8-2 win over Kenyon's Natalie Connelly and Erika Pontillo.
The No. 10-ranked Pirates are 3-3 to start, with all three losses coming to scholarship programs.
