Southwestern women's tennis sophomore Alli Ziehm was named the Universal Tennis Rating/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Player of the Week.

"Alli has really come on in the latter part of our season," head coach Billy Porter said. "She continues to work hard and is getting the results she deserves."

Ziehm came in clutch for the Pirates in Southwestern's conference match against Trinity University, winning her doubles and singles match in the program's first victory over its longtime conference rival. She paired with Emma Kesterson to score the Pirates' lone doubles win, defeating Nichole Markiewicz and Elodie Richar 8-5 in No. 3 doubles. She later clinched the match for Southwestern with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Paulina Garcia in No. 6 singles.

The Pirates' sophomore has had a stellar season in the bottom half of the lineup, posting an 11-1 individual record, with her lone loss coming against Tyler Junior College. She is 6-1 in No. 6 singles, 1-0 in No. 5 singles, 2-0 in No. 4 singles, and 2-0 in No. 2 doubles. Ziehm is also 12-4 in doubles matches.

Southwestern finished the regular season 13-4, including a 6-0 record against SCAC teams. The Pirates will compete in the SCAC Championships starting on Friday, April 30, in San Antonio, Texas.
