RICHARDSON, Texas – The Southwestern women's tennis squad earned two victories on Saturday. The Pirates earned a 7-2 win at Austin College before sweeping Texas-Dallas, 9-0.
In the opening match, Southwestern captured two of three doubles contests to take an early lead. The Pirates then won five of the six singles matchups to pick up the victory. Julie Swets provided the clinching point after posting a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
SU had little trouble in the nightcap, as the squad blew past Texas-Dallas. Anna Schneemann won her No. 1 singles matchup in a tiebreaker after trailing 5-2 in the second set.
Southwestern will continue its road trip next Saturday with a pair of matches. The Pirates will face LeTourneau in Longview at 10 a.m. before heading over to Tyler to meet Texas-Tyler six hours later.
