Southwestern had a huge 9-0 win over Our Lady of the Lake at home Wednesday at the Marvin D. Henderson Tennis Center.
The Pirates set the tone with easy wins in doubles play. Julie Swets and Emilie Moeller won 8-4 at #1, Maranda Kahl and Callie Mantooth breezed past Almanza/Lin 8-0 at #2 and Ciera Mires and Mattie Cryer won by default at #3.
The domination continued in singles play as Marieke Visser won 6-1, 6-0 at #1, Virginia Stofer 6-4, 6-1 at #2, Mattie Cryer won 6-1, 6-0 at #3 and Ciera Mires won 6-1, 6-1 at #4. Both Mantooth and Heba Abdel-Rahim won in #5 and #6 singles respectively by default.
Southwestern improves to 8-5 on the year with the win. They return to action at home on Saturday to face Centenary College and Texas Lutheran.
